Happy first day of Spring!

You have survived yet another season, and I am so glad you are here. The colder months can be really hard sometimes, we don't realize the effect daylight has on our bodies until it becomes limited. Sometimes we see that in friendships, being in that relationship we are often blind to how toxic they can become and how much they have pulled us down.

For me Spring has always come like a breath of fresh air, it reminds of the person I love being and I finally can see the effect winter had on me. Sometimes all it takes is one person to bring you out of that.

I have always believed the idea that you are who you surround yourself with. We has humans are so easily influenced by those around us. Middle school is a time to find yourself and establish those friendships, but I am here to tell you its not always worth being in the "popular" group. I see the popular group as winter, you love the idea of it and everything that comes with it. Winter we get beautiful snowy weather and family time, not to mention so many fun holidays. The popular group also comes with so many pros, you get to sit at "the lunch table", you have all the coolest friends, and everyone wants to be you.

Now what happens when the snow melts and now its just a soggy cold day or the holidays are over and everyone has gone back home? Eventually these friendships you worked so hard for turn into those wet cold days. The sun will begin to shine a little brighter and you will be able to see everything you lost to be in a group that is no where around now. The best version of yourself is when you are truly you, find the people that remind you of spring and help you grow. Friendships are meant to build you up not give you the blues.
